The master’s chair

Spring has finally seems to find the National Capital and with it, marks the start of a very busy time for Masonry, a time when the lodges throughout the jurisdiction gear up for their elections and installations. I hope that many of you, especially the newer brethren will attend as many of these functions as possible and I would be pleased if any Brother would like to join me in my travels to these events.

I would like to express my gratitude to the Brethren who took part in the reading of the Old Charges at last month’s Candle Light Lodge.

Congratulations to Bro Jesus Federico on being raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason at our emergent meeting in March and to RW Bro Forster for doing the entire degree by himself. This was a special night to begin with but it was brought to the next level through the efforts of RW Bro Forster.

Our April meeting will concentrate on Masonic Education and the reception of a distinguished delegation from Renfrew 122 as we once again unite the Bifulgated Gavel symbolizing the special bond our two lodges share.

In lieu of an Emergent meeting in April, we will be having a Fraternal Visit to Civil Service Lodge as they Raise our Brother Don MacFarling to the sublime Degree of a Master Mason. I expect a good turnout to support both the candidate’s efforts and the Step up Team from Civil Service Lodge.

On April 20th, 2019 we will be honouring a great Mason and a devoted member of St Andrew’ with a Tribute dinner for RW Brother Ron Campbell. Tickets are available through the Secretary or myself and I encourage everyone to attend this event.

For the brethren who have not been able to attend lodge, I hope this finds you happy and healthy and that your circumstances will soon permit you to return to the lodge.

Sincerely and Fraternally,
Angus Gillis W.M. 2018-19
